17 Filipinas captured in Saudi Arabia for going to Halloween party
At least 17 Filipinas arrested in Saudi Arabia for taking part in a Halloween
party, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Tuesday.
The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh said the unidentified Filipinas detained at the Al Nisa Jail.
Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Adnan Alonso said embassy officials have been requesting access to
the detained Filipinas since their arrest on Friday, October 26.
Alonso said the Filipinas among a few people who captured by Saudi insight agents who attacked a compound in Riyadh where the Halloween party occurred.
The DFA reminded abroad Filipino laborers (OFWs), especially in the Middle East, to regard the laws and customs of their host nations following the capture of the Filipinas.
Saudi laws entirely disallow unattached guys and females from seen together in broad daylight, the DFA said.
