SSS contribution climb awaits Duterte nod
A proposal raising the contribution rate of the Social Security System waiting to sign into law
by President Rodrigo Duterte, the agency’s president Emmanuel Dooc said Sunday.
Last week, senators and congressmen approved the proposal to raise the membership contribution by
one percent every other year until it reaches 15 percent of one’s salary by 2025 from the current 11 percent.
The proposed amendment to the SSS charter also provides for unemployment insurance of up to 2 months for members who involuntary lose their jobs.
