Duterte confirms offering top DFA post to Teddy Boy Locsin
President Rodrigo Duterte said he had asked Teodoro “Boy” Locsin to replace Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano,
who is expected to leave his post and run for a seat in the House of Representatives in the 2019 elections.
Nevertheless, Duterte made the confirmation on Friday upon his arrival from Bali, Indonesia after attending the Association
of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Leaders’ Meet.
The President had said that he has already found a replacement for Cayetano, whom he opted not to name just yet.
In any case, Duterte asked his confided in associate, Christopher “Bong” Go, to call Locsin and inquire as to
whether he would acknowledge the DFA Secretary position.
Besides, I don’t know whether Teddy Boy has consented to be DFA secretary Siya, sabi niya (indicating Go),” Duterte said.
Meanwhile, Locsin is at present the Philippine Ambassador to the United Nations.
