Rest in peace
Former National Security Adviser and official Rogelio “Roilo” Golez passed away on Monday. He was 71 years of age.
Parañaque City Vice Mayor Rico Golez affirmed his dad’s death in a DZMM report.
Roilo, who filled in as former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s security counsel from 2001 to 2004.
The House Majority Leader Rodolfo Fariñas said in an announcement that Golez succumbed to heart attack.
“It is with misery that I post here that Danny Suarez just called me with the data that he passed away. May his soul Rest In Peace!” Fariñas said.
Golez is a result of the nation’s government funded educational systemas he transferred to Quirino High School.
Studied in the Philippine Military Academy, and was a graduate of the US Naval Academy in the US. He was moreover a former Philippine Navy officer.
The former Philippine Navy officer also took up Masters in Business Administration at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, graduating as class valedictorian.
He was a former postmaster general, and governor head of the Philippine Red Cross.
Roilo had been vocal about the administration’s treatment of the question in the South China Sea. As he wildly upheld for the Philippines’ rights toward the West Philippine Sea.
He was born in Romblon on January 9, 1947. His parents are both public school teachers.
