Makabayan bloc in the House has filed a bill to set the P750 national minimum wage for all private sector workers.

The Makabayan bloc also included House Bill 7787 leaders of the Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU), the Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) and Workers’ Movement.

Under the measure, the Regonal Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards are currently being disbursed which is now responsible for wage increase in each region.

It also stipulates that the minimum wage will be the same in all regions of the country.

Makabayan called on Duterte

This is because the setting does not necessarily depend on the type of living

each area as the price of commodities and services is at the same time.

Metro Manila, minimum wage is P512 but it is no longer enough especially

in the middle of the impact of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law.

Makabayan called on President Duterte to move the congress to take priority on such measures.

The group also urged the immediate abolition of the provisions of the TRAIN

Law which is the root of the price increase of commodities now.
