Secretary Silvestre Bello III said that the group from Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will be sending Technical Working Group to Kuwait led by Undersecretary Claro Arellano, to conclude Memorandum of Agreement to ensure that the rights of OFW’s are secured and protected.
Bello said that inclusive to the MOA: OFW’s should hold their passports and should use cellphones for communication.
“I’m willing to go to Kuwait as soon as the MOU is ready for signing,” Bello said
“Baka pag nalagdaan yang MOU na yan, this may be a very good reason for the President to reconsider yung total deployment ban. Pag napirmahan yan, we’ll have additional protection for our workers,” he added.
Technical working groups of the two countries will meet, probably in Kuwait or in a more subtle venue, by the end of February said the Labor chief.
