The New Clark International Airport is envisioned to the next dynamic gateway to Asia and is the solution to decongest the overcrowded Ninoy Aquino international Airport.
True to its promises, the Duterte Administration is right on its track in beating Build, Build, Build’s infrastructure deadlines when it broke ground on December 20, 2017, the 100,000 sqm. world class terminal at the Clark International Airport in Pampanga.
The groundbreaking ceremony was witnessed by top officials of the government led by Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez, Former President and Now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez, Secretary of Transportation Arthur Tugade and BCDA President Vivencio Dizon led the ceremonies together with local officials led by Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda and Tarlac Governor Susan Yap.
The construction of the said airport will officially begin in the first quarter of 2018 and will cost P9.36 billion to be implemented by Megawide-GMR the company who built the New Cebu International Airport.
The new passenger terminal in Clark will have 3-storey building and targeted to be finished in just two and a half year.
The present Clark airport can contain at least 4 million passengers but if the new project will be finished, an additional 8 million passengers can be accommodated every year.
In an interview of GMA News, House Speaker Alvarez commented on the strong will of the Duterte
“There are many administrations who governed but it seems like it’s a dream always. It’s different if you’re working the plan itself,” the speaker said.
While DoTr Secretary Arthur Tugade said that the project in Clark will not just stop in the airport.He said that the Tutuban-Malolos, Malolos-Angeles Rail Project will also start in 2018.
New Clark City
Another new and exciting project to be built in the area is the New Clark City. It is envisioned to be the first green city in the Philippines with walkable and green open spaces, convenient mass transport system, fast internet connectivity, employment center just nearby and more. Dubbed to be as the next most livable city in the world, the New Clark city will be build under the same government program Build, Build, Build and will be implemented by the Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA).
