One local broadcaster based in Davao City received death threats after she criticized President Rodrigo Duterte’s granddaughter’s pre-debut photos in Malacañang, the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP)
Kathyrine Corez of Radyo ni Juan said she received threatening messages shortly after hosting her radio segment criticizing Isabelle Duterte’s photoshoot.
“I’ve received several texts messages from the phone number 09467002090 saying ,Hinay-hinay lang bata ka pa! Cge ka pagpangdaot sa gobyerno murag kag korek! Undangi na inyong pagdapig sa komunista ( Take it easy you’re still young You always criticize the government as if you are correct! Stop siding with the communists!) an unknown messenger said.

“Isang bala para nimu! Merry Christmas (One bullet for you! Merry Christmas),” it added.
But the president himself already defended his granddaughter on his previous speeches.
“Yung isang anak ko, and lumabas nga doon sa Daily Star na nagpa-picture, ano ba naman ‘yan? Kadugo ko ‘yan….”
“Small matter,” Pres. Duterte said when asked about the matter, during the bday celebration of Sen. Manny Pacquiao in General Santos City.
“Small matter, gamitin lang ‘yung Malacanang. Wala naman ako doon. But even if I was there, itong granddaughter ko magpa-picture, lahat nga ng mga bisita pumupunta dyan, nagpapapicture eh.”
“You know, that girl, she’s going to be 18 years old. Ang nanay niyan, Maranao, ang tatay nyan, Tausug,” the president added.
