The National Food Authority (NFA) in Eastern Visayas released rice for the victims of Typhoon Urduja brought by heavy rains and mainly caused flooding and landslides.
A total 6,752 bags of rice were distributed to Eastern Visayas included 2,900 bags of rice to Eastern Samar, 3,682 bags to Northern Samar, and 170 bags to Biliran were release on Dec. 14 to 17.
“Our NFA rice stocks are basically for the calamity victims a reserved for them and will be used of other destructive storms coming before yearned,” NFA Administrator Jason Aquino said.
Other 170 bags of rice will distributed to Cabucgayan and Southern Leyte.
Meanwhile, PAGASA’s report says Urduja was moving toward the West Philippines Sea at 11 a.m. and expected to exit on Wednesday Dec.20.
