Isabelle Duterte, the granddaughter of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, who recently had her pre-debut photoshoot in Malacañang got many bad comments that it was made right inside the palace, saying it’s “inappropriate” and “very lavish”.
But the president himself defended his granddaughter.
“Yung isang anak ko, and lumabas nga doon sa Daily Star na nagpa-picture, ano ba naman ‘yan? Kadugo ko ‘yan….”
“Small matter,” Pres. Duterte said when asked about the matter, during the bday celebration of Sen. Manny Pacquiao in General Santos City.
“Small matter, gamitin lang ‘yung Malacanang. Wala naman ako doon. But even if I was there, itong granddaughter ko magpa-picture, lahat nga ng mga bisita pumupunta dyan, nagpapapicture eh.”
“You know, that girl, she’s going to be 18 years old. Ang nanay niyan, Maranao, ang tatay nyan, Tausug,” the president added.
But on a blog post of Raisa Robles, one of the mainstream journalist who is a major critic of Duterte administration, mentioned that she was confused of Isabelle’s age whether she’s turning 16 or 18 next year.
By the way, she did her research in google.
Quoting what she wrote:
“So I searched some more and went to the Davao City government website where Ms. Duterte’s father Paolo is the vice mayor and her aunt Sara the mayor.
And this is what the official website of the Davao City government stated:
THAT ISABELLE DUTERTE WAS BORN ON JANUARY 26, 2002.”
She even put her tirade on what the president said that it’s just a small thing.
“You might again say, this is such a small thing.
And I would reply, this is all about honesty and truth-telling. If Malacanang can’t be honest in small things, what about big things?”
But Mocha Uson, who is an ardent supporter of the president, also defended on Isabelle’s side.
“Sabi ng mga salot sa lipunan bastos daw ang apo ni PRRD dahil sa pagpost sa seal ng Presidente. Kung ganito ang logic nila yung dalawang nasa kanan na picture bastos din po ba?” Mocha Uson’s p[ost said.
Even Isabelle who is in her young age was already dragged into controversy, cannot contain what the bashers have to say.
She also urged the netizens to become more useful.
“I hope you do something useful with the freedom you are given, other than making hateful comments and carry so mch unnecessary weight on your shoulders. I hope you will find the maturity to focus on more alerting issues and not on a 17 year old girl. Try to be uselful.” Isabelle Duterte tweeted.
In the middle of the heated debate between her fans and critics, the daughter of Davao City Mayor Pulong Duterte has expressed her appeal to all the people who hated what she did inside their official residence.
