Pinay student, bagged P20M in Global Science Competition

An 18-year-old Filipina student of Philippine Science High School from Leyte named Hillary Andales bagged over P20 million worth of cash prizes after beating 11,000 students all over the world in the Breakthrough Junior Challenge (BJC) on Dec.3 an annual international science competition at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Ames Research Center in California.

The BJC global competition aims to inspire creative thinking of students about Science were now on its third year.

It was founded by Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan, with Sergey Brin, Julia Milner,Anne Wojcicki and Yuri.

Furthermore Hillary also bagged $50,000 for her science teacher, $100,000 breakthrough prize lab for her school, and $250,000 worth of college scholarship.
