PNP Chief General Rolando “Bato” Dela Rosa expected more attacks from the New People’s Army (NPA) after President Rodrigo Roa Duterte suspended peace talks between the government and CPP-NPA-NDF.
This was the reaction of Dela Rosa after the ambush that happened on a police convoy in Labo, Camarines Norte made by NPA terrorists.
According to Dela Rosa he issued an order to strengthen security and oversee the campus to prevent possible NPA attacks.
“We expected that to happen and as much as possible we try to avoid on the receiving
end to be the casualties, but ambush, its ambush.”
Dela Rosa added, “The police did not fight the NPA that time but while they were returning home, they were ambushed by those terrorist.”
“That is an evident why NPAs were very misleading, I also regret the death of a policeman while undergoing seven injuries.”
“They do not get involved in their operation when they return home and they are back. That’s a deceit. The one wounded is dead, that’s a ballgame, sometimes you win sometimes you lose, ” the PNP chief added.
