Laura Lehmann, the Philippines candidate for Miss World 2017 is making waves in Sanya, China, was selected among the Top 5 Finalists and eventual winners with the most relevant Beauty with a Purpose project.
The Philippines, even though considered as a major front-runner in the world of beauty, with an evident streak on the final 5 on most pageants the past years, has only one Miss World crown, won by Megan Young in 2013.
Miss World, is the oldest running international beauty pageant, which was created by Eric Morley in 1951 in United Kingdom. Since his death, his wife, Julia Morley continued the rise of Miss World, tagging along the ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ slogan where the organization involved itself with the most relevant and important charity projects around the world.
Since 2005, the winner of the Beauty with a Purpose challenge in Miss World automatically reserves a spot in the semi finals.
