The Music Festival staged in time for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit 2017 was cancelled due to a large turn out of crowd at Ayala Triangle, behind the Philippine Stock Exchange, Makati City, Tuesday night.
Official statement by the National Organizing Council (NOC): “For reasons of public safety, we have stopped the show. People are slowly leaving the venue to go home. We are very sorry for the inconvenience.”
Makati police chief Senior Superintendent Gerardo Umayao said that the event was cancelled “because some of the people are already passing out.”
The music festival was one of the highly promoted event in the ASEAN summit. But the organizers already cancelled the event fearing stampede will happen.
Here are some comments on twitter:

For the nth time, please do not go at the Ayala Triangle for your safety na din. I really do not get why the organizers anticipated 10k crowd for a very small venue. Ugh. #ASEANMusicFestPH https://t.co/9eWZlM529r

Not really a fan of music festivals or concerts but simpleng math, you anticipate big crowd, you held it on a bigger venue. Circuit Makati Open Grounds is very big as compared to Ayala Triangle. And I am not yet dwelling on the expenses made for this ah. #ASEANMusicFestPH

Weren't the organizers able to anticipate the pool of people? Logistics wise, Ayala Triangle is not an ideal place for such event. #ASEANMusicFestPH

Let’s not take it all to the organizers, concert goers should be disciplined too #ASEANMusicFestPH

I applaud the organizers for making the difficult decision to cancel. A lot goes in leading up to an event/concert. To the idiots who ruined everything, you owe the people who have worked hard on this an apology #ASEANMusicFestPH #aseanmusicfestival

It's easy for people to blame the organizers for their lack of crowd control but the things is, as an audience you should be RESPONSIBLE ENOUGH TO CONTROL YOURSELF FIRST!!!
qiqil nyo si acoe!#AseanMusicFestPH

even the organizers were panicking, may mga nahihimatay na may dumugo yata ilong tas ayun, may katabi kami na magjowa na nakisabay na sa pagalis namin kasi ang gulo na talaga nakakatakot na magkastampede pa.
